The past few days have been great for workers, especially here in the South. Our neighbors in Tennessee won the first new auto workers union in decades, joining the UAW in a landslide and changing the lives of over 4,000 laborers. The Department of Labor announced that over a million lower-earning salaried workers will be eligible for overtime pay under new rules, ending a restriction on everyday employees that was only supposed to affect executives. Finally, the FTC banned non-compete clauses for almost all American workers. Non-compete clauses impacted everyone from fast food workers to veterinarians, and the average worker will see income increase as a result of this change.
